Models emitting 101-149g/km will not receive any rebate or fee, and those above 149g/km will face fines up to $3450.

These changes will have a significant impact on hybrid vehicles like the Toyota Aqua and Prius and Nissan Note Hybrid. For example, a 2009 Toyota Prius emits 117g/km and currently qualifies for a rebate of $1037. However, after July 1, this model will no longer be eligible for a rebate but will fall within the zero band, meaning no rebate or fee will be applied.
